You have to buy a phone with a plan, either on pay as you go or pay monthly. Find out whether pay monthly or pay as you go is right for you.

I'm switching networks and want to keep my number, can I do this?
Yes, you can. It can take as little as seven days to transfer your number to Orange. If you want, we can give you a temporary number while your number is being transferred, so you can start enjoying the benefits of Orange straightaway. Find out more about bringing your number to Orange.

Can I upgrade my phone online?
If you are a pay monthly customer you can choose a phone and request an upgrade online by completing a short form. We'll then contact you about your upgrade. The cost of your upgrade will depend on the Orange services you subscribe to. We will tell you the exact price when we contact you. Choose a phone to upgrade to.

How do I join Orange online now?
All you have to do to join is choose a pay as you go phone or a pay monthly phone then a Service Plan. That's all. If you want to keep your existing phone number when you join Orange you can do that too - we won't charge you a penny to bring it over. To join Orange click here.

How do I buy insurance for my phone?
If you pay monthly - phone insurance (Orange Care) costs £5 a month and can be selected when you choose/create your monthly plan. Or if you prefer you can pay annually. Just call 434 from your Orange phone and your cover will start 24 hours after your call. (Accepted claims are subject to a £15 administration fee).

If you pay as you go - phone insurance costs £50 a year - just call 450 from your Orange phone to set it up.

Can I buy a cheaper phone online?
Some phones that are sold in the Orange shop online are cheaper than in other retail outlets. From time to time we will also have exclusive offers in the Orange shop online that can't be found anywhere else; in some cases, phones will be at a discounted price or even free on certain Service Plans. Can I call other networks with my minutes?
Yes, no matter what plan you're on - whether it's pay monthly or pay as you go, you can call other networks. But if you tend to call other networks regularly, you might prefer a plan that includes calls to other networks in the inclusive minutes. For example, the 'any network anytime' plan. What do I do if my phone is lost or has been stolen?
  1. Stop someone else using your phone, report it to Orange by calling: 07973 100 150 if you pay monthly or 07973 100 451 for pay as you go.
  2. Contact the nearest police station to where your phone was stolen or lost.
  3. If you have phone insurance (Orange Care), call 07973 100 150.
